OPEN SHOOT WARDROBE - TOP SUGGESTIONS

I am having an open shoot on July 23, Saturday and it's called Flirty Floral Photoshoot.... I am creating maxi skirts, mostly full circle size but with some A line and maybe a few straight cuts. However, I asked each participant to bring their own tops for the skirts, the reason for this is so that they can have a perfect fit for the top. The skirts are flexible, forgivable because we can pin them or i can make them into garterized skirts so it can fit a range of sizes. But tops look much better when it is a perfect fit.

So, what kind of tops should i use? This is a question that I am sure will come up. So i am writing this blog to show some suggestions of tops that would go with long flowy skirts...

1. CROP TOP

I think with all the material a full skirt provides, a crop top would be a complementing partner for it. Crop tops can be sleeveless or even with sleeves..take a look at these lovely maxi skirt - crop top pairs that I searched/found in google

Black or white are safe colors which go with mostly any print or floral skirt....

2. OFF THE SHOULDER

I love off the shoulder tops...and to pair them with a long maxi skirt....it just gives your photos a romantic, vintage-y feel... Here are some samples from google...

3 - LACEY TOP (LACEY TANK TOP)

A lacey top makes the whole look a bit more formal...if this is what you're looking for.... These images are from google...

4- CASUAL TANK OR TSHIRT

Going for a casual look, try wearing just a matching tank or tee... found these on google...

5 - LONG SLEEVES OR JACKET

Although it is hot out, sometimes wearing long sleeves or a jacket looks great with long maxi skirts just like these ...

6 - CORSETTE/BUSTIER

This i think has got to be one of my faves because its so feminine and sexy ...it can be formal or casual depending on how you wear it....

So here are just a few that I found that I thought were great....I will add more as i find more ideas... We can also study the poses of these beautiful ladies and imitate them for our shoot. I am so excited!!! ARe you....

PATRICIA | OUTDOOR BEAUTY PORTRAIT SESSION

"A warm smile is the universal language of kindness " - William Arthur Ward Most of the times, we want models to have a far away serious pose..it gives the photograph mystery and drama. This model certainly has that down...she is awesome at projecting.... Yet, what I love about shooting her is her smile... it also has that mystery like you just want to know what mischievous plan is she brewing up now... very lovely... Week 3 Catch Up - Shades of Grey

I am almost all caught up with the themes. I have the next 2 themes ready and just need to post them here on my blog.  So, this post is a catch up for week 3, Shades of Grey. I love taking sky pictures because of the beautiful colors. I decided, though, that this photo still looks great in black and white because of the brilliant sun. So here's my submission for the theme.... This was taken on January 31, 2011 at Villa Escudero. Taken with Samsung GT-I8000 (cellphone) F-stop f/2.8 Exposure time 1/16384 sec ISO-50 Edited with Picasa 3 - made black & white, adjusted tuning I also wanted to post a picture that my hubby took that also works with the Shades of Grey Theme....it's my sister-in-law's Dog (Zoey's) best friend...."Cat" (aka 'Ket")..... I'm still trying to convince hubby to join in with the photo challenges....

MCP Project 52 Photo Challenge

This year I have joined several challenges....a crafting challenge...a jewelry challenge... and now I am officially joining a photography challenge. I've actually wanted to come up with a theme for each week and host a challenge myself. However, this has proven to be a difficult task to handle. So instead, I am joining the folks at MCP Project 52. They are currently on week 4...so I am already late. I do want to catch up, though because after scanning through the past themes, I found them quite engaging. So, this blog was created to display my photos and tell you a bit more about why I decided to take them....If you'd like to join in, stop by the website . Anybody can join at anytime!
