The morning was a modeling workshop for aspiring models followed by an openshoot in the afternoon. I was unable to attend the workshop for models in the morning but went to the openshoot around 130pm.
The shoot had already started but some of the ladies were still being "made up" by the makeup artists... I was just observing because it is one of my wishes to one day also be a makeup artist too... another side of the spectrum :-)
My goal for this shoot was to work on my "focus" Lately I had noticed that some of my photos were leaning on the soft side. Although it gives a feminine soft look, I was unhappy. I wanted a super clear super sharp photo. So i discussed it with my husband and we came to the conclusion that my hands must be unsteady and the effect was camera shake. I know that to be true...sometimes when i click on the shutter button i feel a slight recoil of me pushing the camera upwards.
The solution to this was to control the speed....we did a few tests at home and with my 55-210mm lens, we figured that my slowest shutter speed should not go any lower than 1/200 to get a really good, really sharp photo. To top that, we also tested the ISO and tried to see how the noise was affecting the sharpness... indoors, i could go up to 800 ISO with fair sharpness... better though 600..
But I concluded to keep it really sharp, I will keep my ISO at 400. So, speed 1/200 or higher...ISO 400 or lower and of course the largest opening F4.5/5... so what happens when its too dark. I can use either the ev compensation or pop up the on camera flash.
So I went to the openshoot with that as my goal.... here are my results....
I am quite happy that I finally achieved the sharpness that I was looking for. These are all just teasers from the event. Now its time to edit for each of these model/clilents. But before that I need to go back to my studio shots from 2 weekends ago...
Smile and Stay Beautiful....Happy shooting....
